-
-
- System configuration
- --------------------
-
- Some I/O devices (FAX boards, internal modems, scanner cards, etc.,) use I/O
- addresses starting at 2E8 (hexdecimal). If these devices do not properly
- decode the full I/O address they can interfere with the function of the
- Orchid Fahrenheit adapters and drivers. Reconfigure, disable, or remove any
- adapter using I/O addresses starting at 2E8 (hexidecimal).
-
- If the system bus speed has been increased above the 8Mhz standard, reset it
- to 8Mhz. (After a successfull installation, the bus speed can be increased
- but be prepared, if anomalous behaviour occurs, to lower the bus speed.)
-
-
-
- Installation Procedure
- ----------------------
-
- Before installing new drivers, it is recommended that a full back up of the
- OS/2 system partition be performed.
-
- If something should go wrong with the driver installation, instructions for
- restoring the video to VGA are to be found in the file README.S3 on the S3
- DRVS diskette.
-
- If the system is not currently configured for VGA, run selective install and
- restore the system to VGA, or use the SETVGA.CMD.
-
-
-
- Automatic Installation
- ----------------------
-
- Please refer to the README.S3 file for the installation instructions.
-
-
-
- Enhancements and fixes from prior releases
- ------------------------------------------
-
- These drivers are derivatives of the IBM/S3 OS/2 2.1 drivers and incorporate
- all the features offered by those drivers. These include conformance to the
- IBM OS/2 2.1 32-bit architecture, palette management, and automated
- installation.
-
-
-
- Known Shortcomings or Problems
- ------------------------------
-
- You need to have the latest BIOS version for the 911 and the 924 chips for the
- WINOS2 seamless support.
-
-
